Throughout the year, Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan made significant strides in improving the lives of the people in his constituency, Borno Central, through various initiatives, empowerment programs, and legislative successes.  

Key Achievements in 2024

1. Free JAMB Registration 

In January, Senator Kaka Shehu sponsored free JAMB registration for 2,000 underprivileged students in Borno Central. This initiative helped many students access higher education, overcoming challenges posed by insecurity and displacement.  

2. Largest Empowerment Program in Borno Central  

In February, he launched an empowerment program benefiting 1,720 constituents. Items distributed included tricycles, freezers, generators, sewing machines, and irrigation equipment. This initiative boosted livelihoods and had a positive impact on the local economy.  

3. Ramadan Support 

During Ramadan in March, the senator distributed food items to party leaders, groups, and individuals, reaching numerous beneficiaries across Borno Central.  

4. Federal Government Cash Transfer Program

He facilitated the enrollment of 2,000 individuals into the Federal Government's cash transfer scheme, providing financial support to many families.  

5. Skills Acquisition Workshops 

From August to October, Senator Kaka Shehu organized training sessions for 660 individuals in poultry farming, soap making, and irrigation farming. Each participant received ₦100,000 to start their businesses.  

6. Support for Boko Haram Victims 

He provided monetary assistance to victims of Boko Haram attacks in Kawuri Village, supporting families who lost loved ones and those recovering from injuries.  

7. Flood Relief Efforts  

When Borno experienced severe flooding in 2024, the senator donated ₦50 million to help victims and suspended official activities to prioritize relief efforts.

He sponsored a bill to establish the Federal University of Agriculture and Entrepreneurship in Bama, which was approved by the Senate in November.
